{"id":10731,"date":"2024-04-24T10:59:30","date_gmt":"2024-04-24T10:59:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ameforum.net\/?p=10731"},"modified":"2024-04-24T11:00:05","modified_gmt":"2024-04-24T11:00:05","slug":"resolution-of-palestine-issue-must-for-global-peace-says-iran-president","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ameforum.net\/ar\/resolution-of-palestine-issue-must-for-global-peace-says-iran-president\/","title":{"rendered":"Resolution of Palestine issue &#8216;must&#8217; for global peace, says Iran President"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Iranian President, Ebrahim Raisi, on Tuesday said that resolution of the long-smouldering Palestine issue is a \u201cmust\u201d for global peace, adding that Palestinians\u2019 \u201cfreedom is Tehran\u2019s \u201ctop priority\u201d,&nbsp;<em>Anadolu Agency<\/em>&nbsp;reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Addressing the students and faculty of Government College University in the north-eastern city of Lahore on the second day of his Pakistan visit, Raisi observed that the resolution of the Palestine issue is not only in the interest of the Muslim \u201c<em>ummah<\/em>\u201d and the region, but also for the entire world, state-run&nbsp;<em>Pakistan Television<\/em>&nbsp;reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He observed that Israeli forces have killed over 34,000 Palestinians over the past seven months, but the international community and the UN have failed to stop Tel Aviv\u2019s \u201cbrutalities\u201d in Gaza.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Noting that Tehran and Islamabad share a similar stand on Palestine, he said it is the joint responsibility of Muslim&nbsp;<em>ummah<\/em>&nbsp;to support Palestinians\u2019 resistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He appreciated Islamabad for holding a \u201cfirm\u201d stand on the Palestine issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Iranian leader, who is on a three-day visit to the neighbouring South Asian country, then flew to the commercial capital, Karachi, on the third and final leg of his tour. He visited the mausoleum of the country\u2019s founding father, Mohammad Ali Jinnah, and attended a ceremony at the Governor\u2019s House.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Raisi was awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Karachi at the ceremony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier, he also visited the mausoleum of the national poet, Allama Mohammad Iqbal, in Lahore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Raisi arrived in the capital, Islamabad, on Monday, where he met with President Asif Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Army Chief, General Asim Munir.
