Israel’s National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir reiterated his critique of the Biden Administration on Monday, emphasizing the need for a shift in Israel’s approach towards its ally while speaking at the faction meeting of his far-right Otzma Yehudit (Jewish Power) Party.

“We value America, we love the administration, but we need to change the way we operate,” Ben-Gvir stated, acknowledging the challenges faced by the Biden Administration. “America is our ally, our friend, but the Biden Administration must stop pressuring us, bringing in fuel and humanitarian equipment that ends up going to Hamas.”

Ben-Gvir also claimed that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s allies were instructed to criticize him, positioning himself as unwavering in his political path. He called on Netanyahu to align with Otzma Yehudit’s policies over those of opponents Yair Lapid and Benny Gantz, highlighting a crossroads for Israel’s leadership.

Ben-Gvir’s remarks come amidst backlash from figures, including Netanyahu, for his previous statements to the Wall Street Journal. In the interview, Ben-Gvir said, “Instead of giving us his full backing, Biden is busy with humanitarian aid and fuel, which goes to Hamas. If Trump was in power, the US conduct would be completely different.”
