Statement on Israeli attacks against Jerusalemites in Jerusalem
"Murder, displacement, colonization, desecration, theft and assaults" are more woes for the residents of Jerusalem, who have suffered the most serious Israeli schemes targeting their existence and the status of their holy city.
These escalating Israeli attacks on Jerusalemites included expelling their families, displacing them, demolishing their homes, arresting and killing them in cold blood, stealing property and land from their owners and original inhabitants, the most recent of which was the storming of Bab al-Rahma and the desecration of Palestinian holy sites.
We in the Asia-Middle East Forum strongly condemn these attacks, which contradict the resolutions of the international community and issued by the UN Security Council, which do not authorize the occupation of the lands of others by force, and consider Israel's occupation (in 1967) of the Palestinian territories (the West Bank, Gaza and Jerusalem) illegal, in addition to contradicting Resolution 181 of the United Nations General Assembly (1947), which concerned the partition of Palestine and the designation of Jerusalem as a special international zone.
Therefore, the United Nations and the signatories to the Human Rights Charter are required to fulfill their duties by compelling the Israeli aggressor to abide by international law and remove the effects of the aggression.
