China announces first successful space launch in 2023
Beijing - Ma'an - The China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation announced that the first launch in 2023 was a success.
In its statement, the Chinese corporation notes that at 6:00 local time (1:00 Moscow time), the Long March 7A transport rocket was launched from Wenchang Spaceport with the Shijian-23 scientific research satellite on board, and some time later this satellite was placed in its designated orbit.
According to the organization's statement, the Shijian-23 satellite is intended for scientific experiments and technical verification.
It adds, this is the 459th launch of the Long March transportation rockets.
